The Walking Dead, Season 5 is set to premiere Sunday, Oct. 12, at 9 p.m. Central on AMC.

Actor Andrew Lincoln, playing character Rick Grimes, said this to Entertainment Weekly about Season 5 of the Walking Dead on AMC: "When I realized the nature of this season, that it was going to be so brutal, I realized we're going to need a bigger beard."

Meanwhile, actor Norman Reedus (playing Daryl Dixon) prepared for Season 5 of The Walking Dead on AMC by practicing his crossbow skills at home with regular target practice in his backyard.

He wants to look like a pro in the show. in case there are any archery buffs that host your local viewing party. If you aren't part of one, it's time to find one.

Actor Norman Reedus tells Entertainment Weekly (here) that Episode 1 of Season 5 is insane as far as what they shot, and how it will be edited down to be shown on AMC. Using a metaphor, Norman Reedus called episode 1 "the 4th of July" because of its intensity and what happens to the group.

Executive Producer Scott Gimple says (in the video below) that [Season 5] is going to be a "season of extremes," including "some very different locations than we've seen before."

End of The Walking Dead Season 4: Not Everyone Made it to Terminus

Meanwhile, Carol and Tyrese are still in the wild, with Rick's baby Judith, while Beth was last seen abducted, while alone with Daryl in the woods. Carol confessed to Tyrese in Season 4 that she killed Karen and David at the prison, before they could turn into zombies. Tyrese was mad, but chose not to harm Carol, but instead, let her live with her guilt.

This gives you a little more insight, so you look informed if you decide to host or find a local viewing party.

Terminus in the Walking Dead Season 4

Season 4 of the Walking Dead left Rick Grimes and his party in a new setting -- Terminus. When they first got to Terminus, we see a woman cooking meat on a large grill, which led some viewers to believe that Terminus was a city of cannibals. They suspect this: Newcomers are invited in to the city with open arms, and when they let their guard down, they are killed and fed to the Terminus population.

At the end of Season 4, do we really know that Terminus is full of cannibals?

Not yet. This will be revealed in Season 5 Episode 1 "Sanctuary" of the Walking Dead, which is discussed below.

At the end of Season 4, Rick's group enters a large warehouse type of building and there is a woman broadcasting over the radio waves the following to attract more people: "Terminus: sanctuary for all...a community for all." This is so they can bring "fresh meat" to Terminus, if you think that they are cannibals.

Perhaps, you will want to host or find 'The Walking Dead Season 5' viewing party in your local area.

The Walking Dead, Season 5 Episode 1: "Sanctuary"

As shared by Executive Producer Scott Gimple on The Talking Dead: In Terminus, the weak newcomers to the town are fed a plate of food. The meat is from humans. They are cannibals. The weak that reach Terminus are immediately taken to the rail car, to be butchered and fed to the Terminus population. According to executive producer, Greg Nicotero, Terminus was meant to be a good place. Unfortunately, the people at Terminus chose to follow the wrong path. Throughout the episode, the Termites keep saying: "You're either the butcher, or the cattle."

The woman in the episode in the candle room that Carol shoots is known as "Terminus Mary." She is Gareth's mom. At the end of the episode, she and her son Gareth and another are in the rail car to be butchered, after Terminus Mary was attacked by the zombies (after Carol let them in). It is unknown if she was actually bitten and will turn.

Meanwhile, Beth is alive somewhere, but is not happy to be there. That is all that is seen in Episode 1 regarding the character Beth, according to Scott Gimple.

Robin Lord Taylor had a very small part at the beginning of the episode, reprising his role as Sam. He is the first man on the trough. They cut his throat. You may also recognize him as the Penguin in the TV show, Gotham.

Rick Grimes gets his baby daughter Judith back from Tyreese at the end of the episode. Baby Judith was choked by a man from Terminus in the episode, and Tyreese stops him from killing Judith. He says in the episode that he isn't ready to kill again, but this incident motivates him to take action.

Who was the masked black man at the end of the Season 5, Episode 1?

He was a man from the Governor's group, named Morgan in Season 3. He is following X's marked on trees.
