Email Notice to Consumers Who Made Payments Through the Google Play Store

The following is a legitimate email sent out to eligible class action lawsuit members regarding the $630 million Google Play settlement.

Google Play $630 Million Class Action Settlement

UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE NORTHERN DISTRICT OF CALIFORNIA
State of Utah, et al. v. Google LLC, et al., Case No. 3:21-cv-05227-JD

NOTICE OF STATE ATTORNEYS GENERAL SETTLEMENT

Notice ID: 332212040

ATTENTION: CONSUMERS WHO MADE PAYMENTS THROUGH THE GOOGLE PLAY STORE

THIS IS A COURT-APPROVED NOTICE AND NOT A SOLICITATION FROM A LAWYER

Please read this Notice carefully. You are receiving this Notice because you may have paid for an app through the Google Play Store or paid for in-app content (including purchases in gaming apps, subscriptions, and ad-free versions of apps) through Google Play Billing between August 16, 2016, and September 30, 2023 (a "Qualifying Purchase"). For example, if you paid to download a game or made a purchase in an app downloaded from the Google Play Store, you may have important rights concerning the State Attorneys General lawsuit described below.

A proposed settlement has been reached in a consumer protection and antitrust lawsuit brought by the Attorneys General of all 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands ("State Attorneys General") against Google (the "Action").

The State Attorneys General claim that consumers paid too much to Google for apps and for purchases made in apps downloaded from the Google Play Store because Google monopolized app distribution on certain Android devices and in-app billing services. The State Attorneys General also claim that by monopolizing app distribution, Google reduced consumers' choices in apps. The State Attorneys General also claim that Google made misrepresentations to the public concerning the risks of getting apps from sources other than the Google Play Store and Google's billing policies for apps. Google denies any wrongdoing and denies the allegations in the Complaint.

The State Attorneys General brought this lawsuit in their parens patriae* capacity, on behalf of consumers who made Qualifying Purchases through Google Play Billing between August 16, 2016, and September 30, 2023, while living in any State, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the Virgin Islands.

As part of the settlement, a $630 million Settlement Fund will be established. The Fund will be used to pay consumers who made at least one Qualifying Purchase, as well as the costs of administering the Fund and attorneys' fees. Your share of the Fund will be at least $2 and may be more based on how much you paid for apps through the Google Play Store or for in-app content through Google Play Billing between August 16, 2016, and September 30, 2023, compared to the amount paid by all other consumers who made Qualifying Purchases.

You are receiving this Notice because Google's internal records show that you may have made a Qualifying Purchase using a Google payments profile with a "Legal Address" located in one of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the Virgin Islands.

If the "Legal Address" listed in your Google payments profile at the time you made a Qualifying Purchase is in one of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the Virgin Islands, then you are a member of this Action and you are eligible to receive a payment from the Settlement Fund.

If you are covered by this Action, you may not have to do anything to receive a payment from the Settlement Fund. The Settlement Fund will make the majority of payments automatically, and no claim form is necessary in most cases. Once the Settlement has been approved by the Court, you will receive an email from PayPal or a text from Venmo notifying you of your incoming payment at the email address or mobile phone number associated with your Google Play account. If that email address or phone number is also associated with a PayPal or Venmo account, then the payment will be made directly to that account. If that email address or phone number does not match an email address or phone number associated with a PayPal or Venmo account, then you have the option to create a new account or redirect the payment to a PayPal or Venmo account at another email address or phone number.

If you (a) do not have an existing PayPal or Venmo account and do not want to sign up for PayPal or Venmo, (b) no longer have access to the email address or mobile phone number associated with your Google Play account, or (c) were expecting to receive a payment but did not, there will be a supplemental claims process after the automatic payments process is complete.

If you would like to be notified by email when the supplemental claims process starts, you may submit your name, email address, and mobile phone number at www.GooglePlayStateAGAntitrustLitigation.com.

By receiving money, you will give up any rights to sue, or continue to sue, Google separately over the claims at issue in this Action.

Objections to the $630 Class Action Google Play Lawsuit

If you want to object to the Settlement, then you must file a written objection on or before February 19, 2026. To learn more about the process for making objections, go to www.GooglePlayStateAGAntitrustLitigation.com.

If you do not want to receive a payment from the Settlement Fund and you want to bring your own case against Google, then you must submit a request to be excluded on or before February 19, 2026. To learn more about or to submit a request for exclusion, go to www.GooglePlayStateAGAntitrustLitigation.com.

An administrator appointed by the Court is sending this Summary Notice. To view the full Notice approved by the Court, and for more information about the Action, including certain important Court filings, go to www.GooglePlayStateAGAntitrustLitigation.com or contact the Notice Administrator at 1-866-905-8127 or by email to info@GooglePlayStateAGAntitrustLitigation.com.

BY ORDER OF THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT
FOR THE NORTHERN DISTRICT OF CALIFORNIA

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The preceding email refers to a website, but doesn't ask you to take any action to join the class action lawsuit, because they already know who has a Google Play account and who is eligible.

That is a big indicator that this is a real and legitimate email.

In Detroit, a Black Goat Named 'Smoke' Scared a Local Resident That Didn't Know What to do

Would you be scared if you were walking to your car in your neighborhood and encountered a black goat roaming around?

One Detroit resident was, and ended up jumping on top of his car out of safety.

Black Goat evil devil
Black Goat named 'Smoke'

On the West side of Detroit, resident Dae'lan Scott was startled when he saw a black goat roaming around, and he was scared, so he jumped on top of his car.

Innocent Farm Animals or Harbingers of Evil?

Many people that grew up in the city may have little to no experience being around goats. After all, we see them on TV, and can sometimes be associated with the occult, devil worship, evil, and many other satanic things in pop culture.

To those that have farms, they know that goats are curious and mostly harmless creatures that can sometimes get into mischief.

Detroit Resident Startled by Black Goat in Neighborhood

Dae'lan Scott learned that 'Smoke' the black goat, escaped from his property and was just taking a tour of the Detroit neighborhood.

Dae'lan told WXYZ News:

"So I go outside. I'm like, OK, OK, I start 'Baaa, Baaa'" and Smoke "came out of nowhere."

The owner of Smoke the black goat is Robert Pizzimenti, and he was cited for "possessing a wild animal without permit."

Pizzimenti regretfully said:

"I don't want him to walk around. He actually hopped the fence. That wasn't the idea. I do need to keep him contained."

WXYZ  reported that court records reveal that the city has "had a history of problems with his animals."

Pizzimenti also said:

"If Detroiters were allowed to farm and garden the way many of us want to, we could have the most unique city on the planet."

Resident Dae'lan Scott now knows what to do if he comes across Smoke. He will try to get Smoke the black goat back home to Mr. Pizzimenti.

Iowa Woman was Found Inside the Walls of a Business After Officers Heard 'Whispering in the Wall'

On another bizarre episode of "World's Dumbest Criminals," a woman was caught by police hiding inside the walls of a Geneseo business and is now facing criminal charges.

Police Find a Woman Hiding in the Wall of a Geneseo Business

KWQC News reported that Caleigh Gottsche of Davenport was arrested by police after hearing whispering in the walls of a business in Geneseo, Illinois.

A business owner on South State Street heard a "loud noise coming from the ceiling or attic area" around 5:30 p.m. and called 911. Police arrived and searched businesses nearby and that's when they heard whispering and movement behind the walls. They talked to Gottsche and were able to pinpoint her location.

Firefighters were able to pull her out of the wall safely.

Police believe she was working with two others, and are searching for them. Roads in the area were closed during the investigation. Police also discovered that they found damaged access points on the "shared roofs" of businesses at the location.

Local Businesses are Hurt by Theft

It’s striking how far some individuals will go to exploit honest businesses — in this case, one suspect actually hid inside the walls to gain unlawful access. According to the report, the suspect was discovered squeezed between interior walls of a commercial building, after first responders heard movement from the ceiling or attic areas.

This kind of bold intrusion demonstrates not only premeditation but also a willingness to put themselves in dangerous and conspicuous positions just to commit theft or damage. Businesses that operate under the assumption of standard break-in risks may be caught off guard when someone is literally inside the walls.

When you think about the impact on the business, this kind of crime goes well beyond just stolen goods or damaged property. The psychological effect on business owners and employees is severe — knowing someone managed to access hidden parts of your building unsettles the sense of security. Moreover, the cost often isn’t limited to items taken; it includes repair of walls, ceilings, rafters, roofs, and potentially shutting down operations while investigation or remediation occurs. In the cited case, multiple businesses at the location had damaged access points in their shared roofs, suggesting coordinated and extensive efforts.

This level of risk underscores how critical it is for businesses to not only secure visible entry points but also to be vigilant about unseen vulnerabilities and the lengths to which malicious actors will go.

California Woman Hands out Potatoes Instead of Candy for Halloween & Kids Love it

A woman in Los Angeles County, California, decided to hand out potatoes at her house on Halloween, and received a very positive response from kids wanting to get potatoes in their candy bag. In fact, it was so popular, she ran out of potatoes "shockingly fast."

Nina Ries
Nina Ries of Los Angeles County

CBS LA reported that Nina Ries in La Cañada Flintridge of Los Angeles County handed out russet potatoes instead of candy for Halloween, and the kids kept coming. She didn't realize how fast she would run out of potatoes after discovering how popular it would be. Kids were running down the street to her house, while other children were giving each other high fives.

She said, "To say that I was surprised was an understatement."

Create Happy Memories by Handing out Russet Potatoes at Halloween 🥔

Halloween 2025
Kids Finding a Bowl of Potatoes on Halloween

Handing out russet potatoes instead of candy at Halloween is an unexpectedly delightful twist that turns an ordinary tradition into a memorable and fun event. While candy is the norm, a potato’s sheer novelty makes it stand out—kids are first puzzled, then amused, and often end up loving the surprise of receiving something so different. It sparks laughter, curiosity, and even a bit of friendly bragging as they show off their “Halloween potato” to friends. The idea breaks the monotony of sugar overload and adds a playful, wholesome sense of humor to the night—proving that sometimes, it’s the simplest and most unexpected gestures that create the best memories.

Florida Man Posing as Elon Musk Scammed Woman of Almost $600K in Investment Scam

A Florida man pretending to be one of the richest men in the world - Elon Musk - promised a Texas woman he would provide a return on her investment totaling $56,000,000 USD. Instead, he was stringing her along for months to gain her trust before stealing her money.

Jeffrey Moynihan scam
Jeffrey Moynihan was arrested after scamming a woman. (source: Bradenton Police Department)

WAFF 48 News reported that a 74-year-old woman from Texas believed the man she met on Facebook was the real Elon Musk. After exchanging messages for months, she gave him almost $600,000 USD of her money because he promised her he would increase her return on the investment to $56 million.

Jeffrey Moynihan is his Real Name, Not Elon Musk

The man scamming her was Jeffrey Moynihan (seen in the image above), and he was arrested by Bradenton Police department, which is on US 41 between Tampa and Sarasota, Florida. He pleaded "no contest" to the charges and received almost 30 years of probation as a result of his crimes.

A representative of the Bradenton police department said:

“A lot of times, people that are older may not have such a large social group,” said a representative. “And if you’re home alone, you know, for a day or two or whatever, and someone calls you or sends an email, and it’s a very friendly email, it can really trick people.”

The important thing is that Jeffrey Moynihan was caught by authorities trying to impersonate Elon Musk and hopefully this is a wake up call for him and he will stop his dangerous behavior of trying to scam honest people out of their money.

What to do if you have been Contacted by a Suspicious Person on Facebook

If you think you are being targeted by a scammer, there are ways to protect yourself.

  • First, stop all communication immediately.
  • Next, alert a trusted family member, a friend, or a neighbor about what has been going on. Tell them as many details as possible so they can help.
  • Third, report the incident to your local police department, including the contact information for the individual.

Fox Sports broadcaster Mark Sanchez in Trouble After an Incident Involving Public Intoxication

Fox Sports broadcaster March Sanchez is in police custody after an incident took place on Saturday in Indianapolis, Indiana. Read the shocking details below.

Mark Sanchez's History in the NFL

Mark Sanchez is a former NFL quarterback who played ten seasons in the league before transitioning to broadcasting with Fox Sports in 2021. He rose to prominence at the University of Southern California (USC), where he led the Trojans to a 12–1 season and a Rose Bowl victory over Penn State in 2008. Despite limited starting experience, Sanchez entered the 2009 NFL Draft and was selected fifth overall by the New York Jets. He made an immediate impact, becoming only the second quarterback in NFL history to reach the AFC Championship Game in each of his first two seasons (2009 and 2010). Sanchez was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2009 and earned First-Team All-Pac-10 honors during his final college season.

Over his NFL career, he also played for the Eagles, Cowboys, Bears, Broncos, and Washington, accumulating over 15,000 passing yards and 86 touchdowns. Though his career had ups and downs—including the infamous “Butt Fumble” moment—his early playoff success and leadership under pressure remain standout achievements.

A Serious Incident Happened Leading to his Arrest

On October 4, Mark Sanchez was in Indianapolis, Indiana to broadcast the Indianapolis Colts vs. the Las Vegas Raiders game for Fox Sports. Around 12:30 a.m. he became involved in a heated altercation with a 69-year-old delivery driver near Loughmiller’s Pub & Eatery

The dispute reportedly began over a parking situation and escalated quickly.

FOX59 released graphic images of the bloodied 69-year-old man receiving care in the hospital after the altercation. The 69-year-old man was working between the Westin Hotel and the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown. His job was to collect used cooking oil used by businesses.

FOX59 reported a struggle near a dumpster before the 69-year-old man used pepper spray to defend himself. The man told FOX59 that "this guy is trying to kill me," and pulled a knife out and "stabbed Mark Sanchez several times in self defense."

Sanchez then went to Loughmiller's Pub & Eatery following the incident where he interacted with a bartender

FOX59 spoke to the bartender Scott Bennett closing up Loughmiller's Pub & Eatery that provided medical aid to Mark Sanchez following the incident. The bartender allegedly did not know what had just transpired prior to giving medical treatment to Sanchez

Scott Bennett told FOX59:

“As I was closing, somebody was beating on the window, just a random person,” Bennett said. “I looked and saw that the person needed help and went outside and the person had blood on him, and he said that he’d been shot.

“Brought him inside and laid him down, and we called 911 and put towels over the injuries that he had.”

Bennett continued:

“There was blood, definitely, it wasn’t shooting out or anything like that, but there was definitely blood,” Bennett said. “Some from the chest and some from the abdomen and crotch region, there was blood on his pants. I was trying to talk to him a little bit, tried to get his name, couldn’t really understand what he was saying. I didn’t recognize him at all.”

Police and court documents report the following:
  • Sanchez appeared intoxicated and allegedly unlawfully entered the man’s box truck.
  • The two men began recording each other on their phones before the situation turned physical.
  • The older man, claiming self-defense, used pepper spray and then stabbed Sanchez in the upper torso.
  • Sanchez was hospitalized in critical condition but later upgraded to stable.
As a result, Mark Sanchez was charged with battery resulting in injury, public intoxication, and unlawful entry of a motor vehicle.

Sanchez was hospitalized following the incident, and authorities have confirmed that the case is under review for formal charging decisions. Once he's released and processed, a court date will likely be set and made public.

According to a FOX59 report, the 69-year-old man involved in the altercation is suing Fox Corporation and Mark Sanchez, alleging the following:

They “knew or should have known about Defendant, Sanchez’s unfitness as an employee, propensity for drinking and/or harmful conduct.”

According to the plaintiff, “Despite the use of pepper spray, Defendant, Sanchez continued to advance toward Plaintiff,” reads the lawsuit, “resulting in a physical altercation which resulted in Plaintiff…suffering significant injuries to his head, jaw and neck.”

Fox Sports in Response to the Incident

Fox Sports issued a statement expressing gratitude to the medical team and asked for privacy for Sanchez and his family. He was replaced in the broadcast booth for that weekend’s game.

This incident drew widespread media attention, not only because of Sanchez’s public profile but also due to the unusual and violent nature of the confrontation.

Tips for Calling In:
Based on the comments received so far, the best advice is that when you call, if you get a busy signal, then you want to hang up and try dialing in again. When you get through, it will actually ring

If you are caller 1-19, you will likely not talk to an actual person, but you will get a ring, and then the line will hang up on you. If you are caller #20, then someone will answer the phone and congratulate you for being caller #20.

Get a few seconds head start: Another pro tip came from a caller in the morning. She was Live on the Air with Valentine and said she listens to 104.3 MYfm on the iHeartradio app on her smartphone and says that the app is a few seconds ahead of the FM radio station and she said it gives her a head start on everyone else.

If you are at home and using a smart device (i.e. Amazon Echo), say: "Alexa, play iHeartradio station K-B-I-G" and Alexa should respond, "Getting your one Thousand forty-three MyFM station from iHeartradio."

The radio station does not run the What's That Noise? contest on holidays.

Video: Strange Alien Figure Captured on California Ring Camera. Homeowner is 'Not Crazy' & 'Not Calling the Police'

A woman from Southern California captures an alien-like figure on her Ring camera, and an expert weighs in on the strange footage captured in her front yard. She said she would not call the police on the mysterious being.

Jessica Ortiz Captures Alien Footage on her Front Yard Ring Camera in Compton

Jessica Ortiz from Compton doesn't know if she is going crazy after capturing video footage of what resembles an alien on June 5, 2025. It was definitely "something strange in her neighborhood," and it was in her front yard based on the location of her Ring camera.

She said, "I'm losing my mind, and I took the phone to my son and I was like, 'Can you check this for me...Am I seeing things...is this what I'm seeing?'"

Her son replied, "Mom, it's an alien. Call the police."

She said, "I'm not calling the police on an alien. We didn't even know what to do. I'm not calling the police, I'm not going outside. I guess I'm going to have to live with the doubt because I'm not checking."

Question to the reader: If you saw an alien in your front yard, would you call the police?

If a person sees an alien on a Ring camera, should they call the police?

Please note that emergency services are intended for genuine emergencies and should not be used for non-emergencies.

Crime Scene Expert Shares His Thoughts on the Alien Captured on the Front Yard Ring Camera in Compton

Scott Roder, a crime scene reconstruction expert, weighed in with his opinion on the matter.

He said:

"Most likely, we are not alone here on planet Earth. I think we share the space with beings and creatures that we are not readily able to recognize or acknowledge that are there."

He worked on an incident report based on the information from Jessica Ortiz and he came up with a 3D model. The model he created is seen on the left below, and another similar variation can be seen on the right, generated by AI.

Roder continued, "Based on the totality of the circumstances of the evidence we had, we estimate that the creature is about three feet tall with two arms and two legs, walking at what we would consider a normal pace."

Tips if You Have Important Video Footage

If you capture important footage of any kind, always download and back up the original file in multiple places without altering the original footage, such as compressing the file.

There are many considerations, such as light, distortion, and reflections, that can cause interesting things to be captured in security videos. When the subject matter is something that has never been seen before, it makes it even harder to confirm what a person is actually seeing.
