Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max Lag Issues Run Deep Down to the Core of Apple Intelligence

People that have bought the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are experiencing issues with the performance of Siri and the iOS 16 operating system, saying that it is "lagging." Some users have weighed in on the Apple Community forum about problems they are experiencing.

Siri Becomes 'Deeply Integrated' into Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max

Apple shared from its website how integrated Siri is with its latest models on its website that with the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max:

"Siri becomes more deeply integrated into the system experience and gets a brand-new design with an elegant glowing light that wraps around the edge of the screen when active. With richer language-understanding capabilities, communicating with Siri is more natural and flexible. Siri follows along when users stumble over their words, and maintains context from one request to the next. Users can type to Siri at any time, and switch fluidly between text and voice as they accelerate everyday tasks. Siri also now has extensive product knowledge to answer thousands of questions about features on iPhone and other Apple devices."

Is Apple Intelligence Slowing Down the iPhone 16 Pro Max?

Apple promotes Apple Intelligence on the new iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max as being something fancy that delivers speed based on their description below.

Apple shared from its website the following about Apple Intelligence:

"Apple Intelligence on the iPhone 16 lineup harnesses the power of Apple silicon and Apple-built generative models to understand and create language and images, take action across apps, and draw from personal context to simplify and accelerate everyday tasks. Apple Intelligence maintains the privacy and security of user data with Private Cloud Compute. This groundbreaking approach provides the ability to flex and scale computational capacity between on-device processing and larger, server-based models that run on dedicated Apple silicon servers — an extraordinary step forward for privacy in artificial intelligence. Apple Intelligence will be available as a free software update, with the first set of features rolling out next month in U.S. English for most regions around the world."

Apple Intelligence on the new iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max may not deliver the speed until some of the bugs are worked out of the software. Some iPhone owners are experiencing the opposite of what Apple is describing. Keep reading to see what some people are experiencing lag with slow processing speed.

Why is Apple Intelligence Lagging for iPhone 16 Pro Max?

Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max users have been disappointed with the performance of their new phones.

Antoni_k posted a message on the Apple Community website about issues he is having with his new iPhone 16 Pro Max.

He wrote:

"I recently bought an iPhone 16 Pro Max and it is almost impossible to use. When I want to take a picture the phone constantly goes back to lock or appears a circle of death. In addition, when I want to search for something that starts with the letter "s" in "Siri suggestion" my iPhone but not only because my iPad also starts to lag. IOS 16 is currently impossible to use smoothly and effectively. Should I do something about my iPhone cameras or wait for the next update?"

Another iPhone 16 Pro Max user 'chrisbettura' posted on the community forum how disappointed he is with the iPhone 16 Pro Max with this response:

"AMEN! My iPhone 14 Pro was way faster, Siri dictation is so dang slow. I’m losing my mind. I feel like I’ve been warped back to the iPhone 3G.!! All that money for a phone that’s slower and lags worse than models that came out 15 years ago, are you kidding me? This is what I was waiting for. Shame on you, Apple., also not cool to play tricks on everybody regarding Apple Intelligence, knowing that it was not available, but to to the phone as the key reason to go out and buy one.

I have owned every single iPhone since the very first one and have been a loyal Apple owner for all products since it’s inception, if that age is me, oh well, but I’m very disappointed in the performance of this phone!!!"

What do you think? Do you own an iPhone 16 Max Pro? Are you experiencing any of these issues?

Samuel L. Jackson Discussing Pulp Fiction with GQ Magazine

Hollywood celebrity Samuel L. Jackson sat down with GQ to discuss some of his past roles and shares that he would now rather choose to play a blockbuster Marvel role than try to "handpick" roles in the hunt to try to win an Oscar.

Samuel L. Jackson
Samuel L. Jackson

Samuel L. Jackson: "Who, who watches this?"

GQ Magazine: "So it goes on our YouTube channel and also on GQ.com. It's got pretty big viewership, I feel like your episode is gonna be a particularly special episode...millions of viewers."

Samuel L. Jackson: "And they got 40 minutes worth of [expletive] to say?"

Samuel L. Jackson and his Role in Pulp Fiction

First they spoke about his role of Jules Winnfield in Pulp Fiction.

Quentin Tarantino and Lawrence Bender
Quentin Tarantino and Lawrence Bender

Samuel L. Jackson: "I had auditioned for Reservoir Dogs and didn't get it, cause I auditioned with Quentin [Tarantino] and Lawrence Bender and they were horrible so I saw him at Sundance [movie festival] at the first screening of Reservoir Dogs and he said, 'How'd you like the guy that got your part?' so he remembered me. I was like, 'You remembered me?' [Tarantino said], 'Yes, yes, I'm writing something, I'll send it, you'll get it.' I did get the script like 2 weeks later and it came in a little brown bag with some gangsters on the front of it and it said, 'If you show this to anybody, I will find you and kill you.' So...and I read it, I was like [expletive]. Really? I couldn't believe it, so I flipped it over and read it again immediately. Okay, if they shoot this movie, and let it be what it is right here on the page, it's going to be awesome...but we didn't shoot exactly what was on the page, but we still got through it."

Samuel L. Jackson: "If I want to change something, I'll write it and show it to him and he'll either okay it or say, 'No.' I've been allowed to change things but I don't do it in front of other people. In Pulp Fiction, in the original script, in the diner when Tim first comes over and he asks about the briefcase, he opens it up, and when he opens it up, I shoot Honey Bunny off the bar, and then I shoot his ass, and kill him. They do a cut, and then I open my eyes and that's what I would have done before I got the vision in the house and I don't kill anybody and he's still standing there, so that's not there."

Samuel L. Jackson: "I mean, there are people who do their whole careers and nobody remembers anything. A lot of things I saw in movies, people still say to me, so I don't know if it's me, if its the writing. My favorite line from Pulp Fiction is: 'What country are you from? What language do they speak in what?'"

Tips for Calling In:
Based on the comments received so far, the best advice is that when you call, if you get a busy signal, then you want to hang up and try dialing in again. When you get through, it will actually ring

If you are caller 1-19, you will likely not talk to an actual person, but you will get a ring, and then the line will hang up on you. If you are caller #20, then someone will answer the phone and congratulate you for being caller #20.

Get a few seconds head start: Another pro tip came from a caller in the morning. She was Live on the Air with Valentine and said she listens to 104.3 MYfm on the iHeartradio app on her smartphone and says that the app is a few seconds ahead of the FM radio station and she said it gives her a head start on everyone else.

If you are at home and using a smart device (i.e. Amazon Echo), say: "Alexa, play iHeartradio station KBIG" and Alexa should respond, "Getting your one Thousand forty-three MyFM station from iHeartradio."

Ostrich Wanders in Traffic After Escaping Faulty Trailer in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

An ostrich was seen in the middle of South Louise Avenue on Friday, 27 August 2024 after it escaped from a trailer with a "faulty door." The owner and bystanders worked together to get the large bird out of the middle of the road and back to its trailer.

Ostrich Wandering in Sioux Falls Traffic

When an ostrich wanders around in the middle of traffic, people notice.

This was the case on Friday when motorists called the Sioux Falls police about an ostrich moving around on a busy four-lane road in the city. That road was South Louise Avenue and it was heading south in front of Coffea Roasterie. This story was reported in the Argus Leader.

Sioux Falls Animal Control did confirm that the ostrich escaped from a trailer that had a "faulty door," according to the owner of the animal.

Sioux Falls Animal Control officer Thomas Rhoades said, "The ostrich suffered no injuries, appeared just fine by us and was back with its owner before we had to take over."

The ostrich owner was able to capture his bird, and get it safely back into the trailer without a problem.

CBS Chicago posted a video on YouTube from the event, which can be seen below.

Ostrich Recorded in Sioux Falls Traffic (YouTube Video)

The video was taken by Beverly Froslie Johnson and people can be seen trying to get the bird's attention by holding a plastic bag with food near its face to try and coax it out of the street.
