How Eligible Amazon Prime Customers can Claim Money from the $2.5 Billion Amazon Settlement

Amazon allegedly "enrolled tens of millions of customers in Amazon Prime subscriptions without their knowledge or consent," and "made it difficult for customers to cancel their Amazon Prime subscriptions." As a result, Amazon agreed to pay out $2.5 billion to eligible Amazon Prime customers.

Eligible Amazon Prime Customers: What You Can Expect

According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Amazon began sending claim notices to eligible Amazon Prime customers in January 2026.

Amazon is required to pay out $1.5 billion for refunds to customers that were affected by its "unlawful" Amazon Prime enrollment and cancellation practices and is also required to pay $1 billion civic penalty and stop the unlawful enrollment and cancellation practices (Source: FTC).

Requirements to Get a Refund from the Amazon Prime Settlement

Eligible Amazon Prime customers can receive up to $51.00 USD under the settlement agreement.

Here are the requirements to be eligible:

1. You are an Amazon Prime customer in the United States.

2. You signed up for Amazon Prime subscription through a "challenged enrollment flow" or tried to cancel through the online cancellation flow but were unable to do so between June 23, 2019 and June 23, 2025.

3. You used no more than (3) Amazon Prime benefits (including Prime Music or Prime Video products offered for free to Prime subscribers) in any 12-month period following Amazon Prime enrollment.

In January 2026, Amazon began sending claim notices to eligible Amazon Prime customers who did not receive an automatic refund from November 2025 to December 2025. The claim notice provides instructions on how to file a claim.

It is important to understand that the FTC will not ask or be involved with your refund, and if someone claiming to be from the FTC contacts you, this is likely a scammer.

If you are eligible, you will receive a claim form by mail or email.

On the claim form, the eligible Amazon Prime customer selects the method of how they would like their refund. It can be by check, PayPal or Venmo.

3 More Businesses Permanently Close at Bridge Street Town Centre in Huntsville, AL in January 2025

Three more businesses are permanently closing their doors for good at the Bridge Street Town Centre outdoor shopping mall in Huntsville, AL. Read the details on the business closings.

First, Pieology Pizza left around November 2024.

An employee from Bridge Street Town Centre posted the following on Reddit.com/r/HuntsvilleAlabama:
"I work at Bridge Street and I was there the day before they closed. The guy working there said they were bought by a different company and the new owners wanted to keep the stores mostly in Florida. Not sure how true that is but just what the guy said."

Then PBR Lockhart Smokehouse permanently closed its doors at Bridge Street at the end of 2024.

FOX54 reported that the cowboy-themed restaurant closed after a 'Countdown to 2025' celebration. The restaurant was a unique joint venture partnership between PBR Cowboy Bar and Lockhart Smokehouse and opened in October 2022. They described themselves as "an electric combination of PBR Cowboy Bar's 'cowboy cool' with Lockhart's iconic Texas barbeque."

3 Stores Closing in Bridge Street Town Centre in January 2025

FOX54 reported on 2 January 2025 that Chico's, Soma, and White House Black Market will all close their Bridge Street Town Centre Huntsville, AL stores permanently on 26 January 2025.

All of these stores are owned by Chico's FAS/Sycamore Partners, which is based out of Florida.

FOX54 reported that this news was shocking to employees, who reportedly learned of the store closures "just days after Christmas."

One employee said, "Our general manager was informed by our District Manager," which came after management told employees that "their locations would not be affected."

An employee told FOX54, "We have ladies who have been here eight years, 11 years, and then my management, my manager now has been here eight years. And there's no plan B for some people."

It was clear that employees "were kept in the dark about the store closings" until after the holiday shopping season.

Jersey Mike's Subs makes awesome subs. They will always ask you if you want it Mike's way. Mike's way is adding the following ingredients to your sub (generally applicable to cold subs): lettuce, onions, tomatoes, oil, vinegar, and spices.

Jersey Mike's makes one of the best Philly Cheese Steak subs with Chipotle Mayo, but don't worry, the Chipotle Mayo is not hot, it just adds to the flavor. Under hot subs, the Chipotle Cheese Steak is #43 on the menu.

A Tip When Ordering the Chipotle Cheese Steak...

Now, if they wrap your Chipotle Cheese Steak sub in aluminum foil before handing it to you, be sure to eat it soon. The juices from the sub will make your Chipotle Cheese Steak soggy if you take your wrapped sub anywhere to eat it (i.e. such as taking it back to work).

When Hurricane Sandy hit the east coast in October 2012, Jersey Mike's computer system was temporarily down, because Jersey Mike's headquarters is located in the state of New Jersey. Fortunately, Jersey Mike's was able to keep going through the Hurricane Sandy tragedy. They are dedicated to serving customers.

In My Opinion...

I think Jersey Mike's should provide other side options besides just chips because I can't complain about their delicious sub sandwiches. Some people would like to eat healthier, and I think introducing other sides, like potato salad, would be popular for Jersey Mike's Subs.

It was great when Jersey Mike's took the money from one day's sales and donated all of it to a local charity. That was really a class act for Jersey Mike's to do that. They do "A Day of Giving" every year.

I have always wanted to try the Grilled Pastrami Reuben, #20 on the hot subs menu, but I can't get myself to order anything other than the Chipotle Cheese Steak sub, because it is that good!

What is your favorite sandwich at Jersey Mike's Subs?

GameStop Stock Rose 1,625% in January 2021 due to 'Amateur Investors' on WallStreetBets forum

'Amateur Investors' pour money into Gamestop Stock in January 2021

Elon Musk tweet
Elon Musk tweets Gamestonk!!

GameStop Corp (GME) shares have increased 1,625% since the beginning of January 2021. Many analysts call the people behind this phenomenon 'amateur investors' because they seemingly have been influenced by online forums, such as WallStreetBets forum on Reddit, or possibly influenced by tweets by Elon Musk, such as the infamous 'Gamestonk' tweet on January 26, 2021. Elon Musk's tweet links to the WallStreetBets forum on Reddit. The reasoning behind the surge in GameStop's stock price is from a concerted effort outlined or encouraged by the WallStreetBets forum on Reddit. Their rationale was that the Hedge fund managers were doing shady things, such as shorting the GameStop stock because they knew it was going to fall in price. When "amateur investors" bought into the GameStock stock, and the increase in price caused a major problem for hedge funds that shorted the stock. They had to then buy more of their short position to avoid losing money, but ultimately still ended up losing money in the effort because the stock price has soared toward the end of January 2021

Many experts are saying that regardless of the massive trend to invest into GameStop will end badly for amateur investors because the stock price is expected to fall back down to under $20.

Billionaire investor Leon Cooperman said to CNBC on Thursday: "GameStop is not worth $500, not worth $400, not worth $300, not worth $200, not even worth $100, not even worth $50...I'm not damning them. I'm just saying from my experience, this will end in tears."

Editor's Note: I personally believe that any person should have the right to invest into any stock they want, regardless of their reasons, and I support their freedom to buy into any stock they choose. Everyone that gets into investing has the right to do this, and to take stock advice from anyone they choose, even if it comes from the WallStreetBets forum on Reddit. I also do not hold any GameStop (GME) stock.

Wall Street is Amazed at the Stock Market 'Bubble'

Many analysts continue to throw around the idea that we are experiencing and seeing a bubble - a term that means we are seeing unexpected things, (i.e. due to more people having money to invest from the U.S. stimulus payments). But the idea that we are in a bubble has been tossed around much in recent times. Does anyone ever really know if we are in a bubble?
