In Detroit, a Black Goat Named 'Smoke' Scared a Local Resident That Didn't Know What to do

Would you be scared if you were walking to your car in your neighborhood and encountered a black goat roaming around?

One Detroit resident was, and ended up jumping on top of his car out of safety.

On the West side of Detroit, resident Dae'lan Scott was startled when he saw a black goat roaming around, and he was scared, so he jumped on top of his car.

Innocent Farm Animals or Harbingers of Evil?

Many people that grew up in the city may have little to no experience being around goats. After all, we see them on TV, and can sometimes be associated with the occult, devil worship, evil, and many other satanic things in pop culture.

To those that have farms, they know that goats are curious and mostly harmless creatures that can sometimes get into mischief.

Dae'lan Scott learned that 'Smoke' the black goat, escaped from his property and was just taking a tour of the Detroit neighborhood.

Dae'lan told WXYZ News:

"So I go outside. I'm like, OK, OK, I start 'Baaa, Baaa'" and Smoke "came out of nowhere."

The owner of Smoke the black goat is Robert Pizzimenti, and he was cited for "possessing a wild animal without permit."

Pizzimenti regretfully said:

"I don't want him to walk around. He actually hopped the fence. That wasn't the idea. I do need to keep him contained."

WXYZ  reported that court records reveal that the city has "had a history of problems with his animals."

Pizzimenti also said:

"If Detroiters were allowed to farm and garden the way many of us want to, we could have the most unique city on the planet."

Resident Dae'lan Scott now knows what to do if he comes across Smoke. He will try to get Smoke the black goat back home to Mr. Pizzimenti.

Resident Evil 5: Retribution For What?

Resident Evil: Retribution in 3D

The Resident Evil Franchise, starring Milla Jovovich, is coming back with a fifth movie.

Yes. I said fifth.

They want retribution this time. For what, I do not know.

If you have read previous blog posts of mine - such as this one - the problem with Hollywood is that they pump out sequels under the premise that it has to be bigger and better. Please do not make another Indiana Jones movie. The first three were great. The last one - not so great.

But there is one problem - rather than continuing to produce high-quality and consistent movies that build onto a franchise, Hollywood opts to use the bigger explosions, unrealistic over-the-top CGI, and the 3D schtick to crank out another movie, rather than to expand the content of the franchise portfolio by producing a great script.

Part of the problem is that established brands with previous successes in the U.S. and worldwide already have brand recognition. That means they already have a "foot in the door" when it comes to adding on a sequel to the franchise.

Keep in mind that Hollywood executives aim to make 60-70% of their profits through worldwide distribution. That means that 30-40% is made here in the U.S., but the worldwide markets have a big influence on what movies get made.

So until Hollywood changes its practices, we will continue to see stale sequels in franchises that have been squeezed dry of their creative juices.

That includes hordes of zombies, and every other beast fathomable, since the Resident Evil movies do not stick to one kind of evil. They do it all.

I would rather see them do one thing and do it well, rather than to do it all and be and a master of nothing.

Good movies are good movies. Plain and simple. But when is the last time you saw a sequel win an award for acting?
If you want to see the trailer for yourself, it can be viewed here on Yahoo! Movies.

...and by the way, if you are a fan of the video games, be sure to pick up Resident Evil: Revelations for the Nintendo 3DS, but don't look at the spine of the game, because it is misspelled.

Ghost Hunters Are Lame: Every Show is the Same

Have you ever watched the SyFy channel? If so, then you may be familiar with ads for the following shows:

Ghost Hunters
Ghost Hunters Academy
Ghost Hunters International
Haunted Collector

Now, SyFy must really have a fascination with the paranormal and ghosts, or their audience really does. I'm betting it is the audience, since SyFy bases their programming on ratings of shows. Seriously, this channel is all about ghosts. These shows seem to have been sparked on the heels of MTV's show, Fear, which aired from 2000-2002.

The sad thing is: Every commercial for the Ghost Hunters shows look the same. Two or three people huddled together, filmed in night vision. One person will say, "Did you hear that?" and then someone will act as if they were surprised by a ghost.

Do you actually think anyone will watch these shows if they went into a "haunted" building, and came out empty-handed? The answer is no. But yet, every episode they find their ghost. Sounds like it is rigged, and staged.

Now do I believe there are occult things out there and haunted places. But, I also know that I do not want to go to those places and mess around with things that are evil. Haunted Collector even frames its episodes around "haunted" objects. Keep that stuff away from me!

I grew up watching Unsolved Mysteries, and each episode seemed to have similar type segments of ghost hauntings, demon posessions, and so forth.

Oh, and by the way, I won't be getting the Haunted House Finder App either. Lame!

And don't get me started on Crossing Over with John Edwards (1999-2004). He is dealing with evil, every time he "speaks" with family members that are dead.

I will depart now and go eat at the Chinese Buffet, conveniently located next to the psychic/palm reader.
