A Costco employee "did the right thing" after finding an envelope stuffed with $3,940 in cash sitting on a pallet. He informed his managers, and they used store surveillance footage and the Costco member ID to track down the rightful owner of the cash.
Would you have done the same thing?

California Costco Employee Found Cash in an Envelope
Costco employee John Sotelo works at Costco in Clovis, California, and was just doing his job when he came across an envelope sitting on a pallet as he was putting away a couple cases of water.
He opened the envelope and it contained $3,940 in cash.
John immediately notified his managers of his finding and they were able to quickly track down the Costco member that had lost the money.
John was surprised that it happened so fast.
He said:
"It was crazy because my manager walked me outside, and the member was right there," recalled Sotelo. "So yeah, she told me like, 'Oh, you know, I'm so glad you found this. That's for my kids to go to school.' I'm like, 'Okay, you know well I'm happy to help.'" -John Sotelo, Costco employee
It was John's personal goal to get "Employee of the Month" and he accomplished that goal. His name is now on the wall.
It's so refreshing that there are honest people in this world who wouldn't hesitate to do the right thing, even if they could use the money.
Question for the reader:
Do you think John should have received a better reward than just "Employee of the Month?"
