Sharp, pointy things are about to be poked into Deadpool, and while it's going to be painful for him, it will be hilarious for movie-goers to watch as Deadpool meets a Wolverine variant named James "Logan" Howlett who isn't playing around with Wade Wilson's antics.

The plot is supposed to involve the Time Variance Authority (TVA) taking Deadpool from his life in his timeline and giving him a mission with Wolverine that may alter other timelines in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) taking the duo to a place in the Void with a Giant Ant-Man helmet.

A giant Ant-Man helmet is seen in The Void. This giant Ant-Man variant was killed by the Red Skull during an event in comics known as the "Superhero Holocaust."

It remains to be seen how this movie will affect the future of the MCU and the X-men going forward.

'The Wolverine' is not a Prequel, It's a Sequel says Mangold

Hugh Jackman has his claws out and is ready to "slice and dice" as Wolverine.

The Wolverine is set for theaters 07/26/13, and promises lots of bone "Snikts" as he will be previewed without the adamantium.

As the Inquisitr shares, in X-Men Origins: Wolverine Logan had his bone claws, despite this being ignored in the X-Men trilogy. That's okay. I can overlook such little nuances considering that the movies will not be an accurate adaptation from the comics we have collected.

That is why in my personal opinion, the latest Batman trilogy with Christian Bale, was a disappointment. I am a Batman purist, grew up with Batman: Animated Series and the comic books, and Christian Bale is not a good Bruce Wayne. But don't get me started.

Back to Wolverine, the newest movie, titled: The Wolverine, takes place after the X-Men trilogy, and definitely after X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Director James Mangold says The Wolverine should be considered, "Japanese noir picture with tentpole action in it." If someone actually knows what this means, somebody please explain it to me.

Mangold goes on to say: "That's something that for me was very important, that I land in a very specific place  in his timeline. I wanted to be able to tell the story without the burden of handing it off to a film that already exists and having to conform to it. The ideas of immortality reign very heavily in this story and the burden of immortality weighs heavily on Logan. For me, that's such an interesting part of Logan's character that is nearly impossible to explore if you have a kind of league or team movie."

If you haven't seen X-Men Origins: Wolverine, buy it on DVD.
