Well Known Videographer Records Dorito Shaped Aircraft Flying at Area 51 Military Base

Anders Otteson recorded a triangular-shaped aircraft flying over Area 51 in Nevada on January 14, 2026 after recording a B-2 Spirit stealth bomber earlier the same night.

It's one thing to think that you are seeing things. It's another thing to know that you just recorded something that the world needs to see, even if it is at a limited resolution over a military base.

Anders Otteson, known for his YouTube Channel, Uncanny Expeditions, recorded a strange, triangular-shaped aircraft flying over Area 51 in the same night he recorded a B-2 Spirit stealth bomber. He notes that the aircraft he saw has a "flatter trailing edge" with "no visible wings" and a "jagged rear section." 

The New York Post reported about the incident, which Otteson filmed around 3 a.m. on January 14, 2026. He said the triangular sighting reminded him of similar "Dorito shaped" aircraft spotted over Southern California. 

Was it a classified aircraft that the U.S. owns, or was it of otherworldly origins?

Excellent question. Otteson said:

"Are we looking at a classified test flight or run-of-the-mill training sortie? I certainly think we have something interesting here."

On January 15, Otteson connected with UFO researcher Joerg Amu, who shared scanner audio from the B-2 bomber flight hours earlier at the military base, and it seemed highly unusual with all of the interesting lingo being tossed around.

Some of the strange terms heard in the recorded audio included: 

  • "Imperial with garlic"
  • "Pretzel snack"
  • "Fridge hydrate"
  • "Profile Michelob"

MIT Flies Aircraft Powered by Ionic Wind that has No Moving Parts

MIT has successfully created and flown an ionic wind powered aircraft prototype that has no moving parts. Yes, that is correct. It has no moving parts and flies.

This eco-friendly aircraft prototype stays in the air with wires that are charged by ions at 40,000 volts. It works by taking the negative charged electrons from air molecules, as they are attracted to the electrodes (negatively charged) at the back of the flying ionic wind powered aircraft. This scientific process described above allows it to fly with no moving parts required.

MIT was able to successfully create a custom power supply capable of generating the right output to successfully stay in the air. This technology still needs to be developed further, but it looks very promising for eco-friendly aircraft. This prototype was flown across a gym floor, which was approximately 197 feet.

This ionic wind powered aircraft with no moving parts created by MIT is quite a fascinating accomplishment that is sure to expand upon existing aircraft technology.

Harvard Created RoboBee: The World's Smallest Robot

Harvard University has created the world's smallest flying robot, dubbed RoboBee. It measures 3 cm. and is the smallest device ever made that can fly. By the way, RoboBee was modeled by using the inspiration of a fly to create the wings.

RoboBee actually has wings that beat 120 times per second. As you can see in the picture above, it is about the size of a penny. Each wing on the RoboBee can be controlled separately, and are made using a piezoelectric actuator. A piezoelectric actuator is a ceramic strip that moves when electricity runs across it. As you can imagine, the ceramic strips are very thin and are connected by thin plastic hinges, allowing the wings to move back and forth.

The only catch to RoboBee is that it does not have an onboard power supply, but currently gets electricity via power supply wires, so it is not wireless yet. So while it is the world's smallest flying robot, it is still limited to where it can go at the moment by the wire to the power source. RoboBee can last from 10 to 15 minutes tethered to the power supply before the plastic hinges connected to the wings give out.

Harvard engineers still has several problems that they cannot solve with RoboBee:

  1. Robobee cannot hold the world's smallest encapsulated microchips, as it is too small (thus the robots cannot have any software to make intelligent choices on its own)
  2. RoboBee has onboard vision sensors, but the data is relayed to the brain subsystem to be decoded. Harvard is trying to create hardware accelerators to fix this problem.
  3. There is no power supply onboard (as mentioned earlier). Adding a power supply would add weight, and would require a larger propulsion system (bigger wings).

RoboBee is quite remarkable in that engineers created them by cutting designs from sheets, layered them, and folded them, very much like Origami.

There is already discussion of how RoboBees could be used for covert surveillance. This would be very similar to what we saw with the exploding fireflies seen in G.I. Joe: Retalliation (2013).

A more docile use of RoboBee would be for search and rescue operations.
